Gary Miller was a long-standing part of Acappella, having performed as
sound engineer, producer, and singer during his 20 years working with Keith. He wrote or co-wrote and arranged more than ninety gospel songs and was the producer of numerous albums including the Acappella Children’s Series. Gary was an original member of Vocal Union, an all-vocal contemporary gospel group founded by Keith, and served as producer and manager of the group. On Saturday, March 12, 2011, Gary was taken to meet the Lord suddenly by a heart attack.
As the Lancaster family and Acappella community grieve his loss, we are
also mindful of the significant expenses and financial need left in it’s wake.
Gary was the sole bread-winner for his family, living modestly with wife Debbie who now faces medical and funeral costs without his help. Keith and Acappella have committed to help provide financial assistance to Debbie and are inviting like-minded christians to join in bearing a part of her burden. They have set up a fund for Debbie and a means by which your tax-deductable donation will provide assistance. Donations may be made by check to Acappella Ministries at 900 N Dixieland Rd – Rogers, AR 72756 or online at Acappella.org. A receipt of taxable donation letter will be sent out to each donor.
In keeping with the spirit in which Gary carried on his ministry and to share his work with others, Keith and Melissa have created “The Gary Miller Collection”, a downloadable album which includes 43 songs, written or co-written by Gary. These were previously released on albums by Acappella, Acappella Children, AVB, X-Changed (Durant) and Vocal Union. For any donation made on the Acappella website of $50 or more, a link will be provided the donor who may then download the collection in MP3 format. All proceeds will be sent to Debbie Miller (less only the publisher’s royalties the Acappella Company must pay for the music).
The Lancaster family wishes to express their appreciation of your consideration on behalf of Gary and his many years of blessing people and taking the gospel to the world in song.
